- W2371193310 abstract "At present,there are many types of hysteretic models on shape memory alloys(SMAs),including Graesser model which is much more practical and relatively simple one in the form of a continuous expression.However,Graesser model,which is not taking into account the influence of the strain rate,is only suitable for low-speed loading condition.When using pseudo-elastic(PE) performance of the SMA to passively dissipate energy,the SMAs are usually under a certain speed during loading or unloading,therefore,the strain rate should be considered.The goal of this paper is to develop a one-dimensional continuous pseudo-elastic hysteresis model which considers the influences of strain rate based on the SMA tensile test.Based on Graesser model,a method that combined numerical analysis and experimental verification is used and the influences of the strain rate are focused on.Firstly,the cyclic tensile loading tests of SMA under different conditions are completed to clarify the major influencing factors.Secondly,the hysteretic model based on the cyclic loading tests is established and the related parameters are determined and a numerical simulation for the developed model is conducted.Finally,the comparisons between the results of the experiment,numerical simulation and calculation based on Graesser model are finished to validate the efficiency of the proposed model.The results of numerical analysis and experiment both showed that the developed one-dimensional pseudo-elastic hysteretic model,which takes into account the influence of the strain rate,can effectively represent the basic mechanical properties of SMAs.The developed model is simple and practical,and can be used for the dynamic response analysis of structures using SMA pseudo-elasticity." @default.
