- W2371278470 abstract "Objective To evaluate the efficacy of the meatal advancement procedure in urethral operation.Methods Eighty seven patients, who underwent the meatal advancement procedure were reviewed. Of these, 56 patients had hypospadias (subcoronal hypospadias 41, distal penile hypospadias 15); 22 patients had penile curvature (type Ⅱ=7; type Ⅲ=15); 3 patients had severe meatal stenosis as a result of infection; 6 patients had concomitant meatal stenosis and urethral diverticulum after previous hypospadias repair. Results All patients were followed up for more than one year. One patient had urethral fistula as a result of infection and 4 out of 56 patients had slight meatal stenosis. Two of the 6 patients who had previous operation developed meatal stenosis postoperatively. The remaining patients passed urine without obstruction. The 6 patients with post operative meatal stenosis were managed with urethral dilation for 3～6 months. Conclusion The meatal advancement is a simple and effective procedure for management of the distal urethral agenesis or meatal stenosis." @default.
