- W2371965629 abstract "：The fractal characteristics of population canopy structure of the mangrove species, Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, in the National Shankou Mangrove Nature Reserve are studied by using the fractal theory. The 3 a branches have box dimensions between 1.22 and 1.55, showing the complexity of the branching structure and the capacity of ecological space occupation and utilization. It may be considered that the fractal dimension provides a useful parameter for the study of light utilization and growth processes of Bruguiera gymnorrhiza. Calculated by using the two-surface method, the fractal dimensions for the crown pattern of individuals with ages of 20 to 50 years range from 2.21 to 2.54, indicating that the filling degree of foliage to the tree crown is relatively low and Bruguiera gymnorrhiza has the property of a sun plant species. Along with the increase of ages of individuals, the filling degree of foliage to the tree crown changes from high to low, and so does the fractal dimension. The box dimensions obtained from the gray scale images of population canopy are between 1.47 and 1.61. The higher the box dimension, the more loosely organized the canopy structure, and the more the photic spots. The structural information and complexity of the population canopy can be effectively disclosed using the box dimension obtained from the gray scale image of population canopy." @default.
