- W2372882824 abstract "Hollow axles for railway vehicles are characterized with long length and central cavity in axial direction. The deflection angles of the wedges are the key factors for the hollow axle production with Multi-Wedges-Synchrostep cross-wedge-rolling(MWSCWR). Mathematical models were built for deflection angles of two-wedge and three-wedge, which could be generally used for MWSCWR. Actual and theoretical stretching angles were defined and the comparison between them was investigated. The models were verified by forming RD2 hollow axle using finite element commercial code Deform-3D. The work piece forming quality is good. The results show that the actual stretching angle is smaller than the theoretical one. The deflection angles for hollow axle can not be obtained using the formulation of that for solid axle by volume subtraction. The developed models can be applied for hollow axle production by MWSCWR." @default.
