- W2373048406 abstract "Biological invasion caused by ship's ballast water has become the focus of international marine environment protection,reactive free radicals has been researched in order to solve the issue by killing the invasive microbes in the ballast water discharging-pipe.When liquid is vertically jetted into cross flow,counter-rotating vortex pairs with strong entrainment will be generated,leading to good mixture effect,meanwhile gas-liquid mixture carrying reactive free radicals could blend rapidly into ballast water in the pipeline and completely kill invasive microbes.In the paper,the model of Eulerian-Eulerian two equations is employed to simulate the evolving and mixing process of gas volume fraction in tee pipe.The results show that there are counter-rotating vortex pairs in the vertical x-sections and start phase,bent-over phase and parallel cross flow phase of gas volume fraction in the vertical z-section,the development of volume fraction distribution is similar to scalar field of single-phase free jet.Unique characteristics are presented by various velocity ratio because of the confining wall. At same time,the impinging jet is a good option for rapid mixing in limited time and short pipe." @default.
