- W2373314113 abstract "Pollen morphology of nine species and one natural pentaploid accession total up to 19accessions of Fragaria and one accession of Duchesnea were examined under scanning microscope.The results showed that the pollen of all the materials was prolate, and the pollen was tri- colporates,which annularly distributed in equal space, and extended nearly to two poles. There were difference on pollen sizes and sculptural features among different accessions. The pollen size of Duchesnea was bigger than Fragaria. The pollen sculptural of all the materials was stripes which were nearly parallel to the polar axis. The stripes of Duchesnea ware messy compared to Fragaria. Pollen sizes and sculptural features existed difference among different Fragaria accessions. The pollen sizes were smaller and the stripes were shallower on the diploid species F. vesca, F. mandschurica, F. yezoensis, F. viridis and the tetraploid species F. orientalis, F. corymbosa than those of the octoploid species F. chiloensis, F.virginiana and F. xananassa. The pollen morphology of the natural pentaploid accession was similar to that of the octoploid species. The cluster analysis was conducted on some typical pollen morphology characters, and the result of the cluster analysis was similar to that of traditional classification on the level of species grade. As to the strawberry cultivars, there was not interrelationship between the result of the cluster analysis and the pedigrees of strawberry cultivars. It was likely that the pollen morphology could not be used to analysis the genetic relationships of strawberry cultivars." @default.
