- W2373880432 abstract "Objective: Phenanthrene, the endocrine disrupting chemicals, is one of the most important ubiquitous organic pollutants among Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbon( PAHs),and they are widespread in the environment. Due to high electron density in the 9,10 double bonds of its structure,Phenantherene is easy to combine with DNA and RNA and destroy their structures. At present, some studies have showed that Phenanthrene is potentially toxic to aquatic organisms. As aquatic organisms( including fish, shrimp, crab and shellfish) are the main carriers of pollutants migrating from water to human body,it is important to study the response of aquatic organisms to polluted water with Phenantherene, which can evaluate the toxicity of pollutants and the degree of hazard to human.Materials and methods: Acute toxicity tests were made in Corbicula fluminea to evaluate the toxicity of Phenantherene. The tests were determined with the semi-static method under laboratory conditions. With the equal logarithm interval method, five concentrations of phenanthrene( 30. 00,37. 08,45. 83,56. 64 mg·L-1and 70. 00 mg·L-1) were set to estimate the acute mortality of Phenathrene on C. fluminea in 96 h.Results: Results showed that 24,48,72 and 96 h LC50 value were 123. 75,67. 59,56. 44 mg·L-1and46. 76 mg·L-1,and the safe concentration( SC) on C. fluminea was 4. 676 mg·L-1; when Phenanthrene concentration was greater than 30. 00 mg·L-1,there were obviously dead-time effects and dead-does effects between the mortality of clam and Phenanthrene concentration. The fitting degrees between the mortality of clam and Phenanthrene concentration were 0. 869 1,0. 926 3,0. 9361 and 0. 9747 at 24,48,72 mg·L-1and 96 h,and fitting degrees between the mortality of clam and exposure time were 0. 949 1,0. 950 3,0. 952 8 and 0. 806 5 in 70. 00,56. 64,45. 83 mg · L-1and 30. 08 mg · L-1group of Phenanthrene conentrations. Conclusion: According to the toxic chemicals of biological toxicity evaluation criteria,Phenanthrene was highly toxic to C. fluminea. While compared with other species reported,C. fluminea was still a stronger resistance species for Phenanthrene pollution. However, after C. fluminea was exposed to high concentrations of Phenanthrene solution, the death happened, which suggested that the Phenanthrene accumulation of C.fluminea was beyond the animal scavenging capacity. In fact, the concentrations of Phenanthrene in the water environment were ofter lower than the safe concentration( 4. 676 mg · L-1) for C. fluminea. But because there were obviously dose-effect and time-effect relationship between the mortality rate of clam and high concentration of Phenanthrene,C. fluminea,a widespread benthos Asian fresh-water species, can be selected as indicator of polluted water species when the accident of Phenanthrene pollution occurred." @default.
