- W2375358630 abstract "Two new crystalline glucosides have been isolated from the Chinese drug Chiu-pi-ying, which is identified as Ilex spp. and popularly used for curing malaria fever in Kwangsi province. They are provisionally named ilexanin A and ilexanin B respectively. The ilexanin A has the emperical formula, C_(19)H_(28)O_(10), m.p. 194°[α]_D~(31)—24°, and a crystalline acetyl derivative, C_(19)H_(22)O_(10)(CH_3CO)_6, has been prepared. It contains two methoxy groups. When hydrolysed with 5％ sulphuric acid, it gives amorphous aglycone and glucose.The ilexanin B has the emperical formula, C_(33)H_(54)O_(10), m.p. 215—217°, [α]_D~(31)+13.3°, and forms a crystalline acetyl derivative, C_(33)H_(47)O_9(CH_3CO)_5. During hydrolysis with 1％ methanolic hydrogen chloride, it gives a crystalline aglycone, C_(27)H_(42)O_4, m.p. 254°, and[α]_D~(31)+102°. Owing to losing one molecule of water in acetylation and hydrolysis, it seems that the acetylated product and aglycone of the ilexanin B have been converted into anhydrous compounds. The presence of a new double bond in each of these anhydrous compounds is confirmed by color test, forming a yellowish or brownish tint with tetranitromethane in chloroform solution. The sugar part of ilexanin B is glucose which is identified by its osazone." @default.
