- W2376717898 abstract "Promethis valgipes valgipes(Marseul)is one of important fungus-eating insects,whose morphological characters are detailed in this paper.Mature larvae,which are referred to as “false wireworms,can be as long as about 45 mm,and the body consists of twelve segments.The anal segment is cone-shaped,with two conical blackish brown caudate processes and about ten small stings dorsally.The pupa is 25～32 mm in length and 8～9 mm in width,whose abdomen is a little flat.There are nine segments in the abdomen,each of which carries a pair of sector-like lateral processes comprising 2～4 processus angularises,and the last segment having a pair of urogomphi in the back and two groups of obtuse spines in the abdomen.The adult is primarily observed with scanning electron microscopy firstly:the oculus are composed of hexagonal stemmata;the sensilla coeloconicum has a obviously higher density from the fifth section to the terminal of antenna;mouthparts have sensilla trichodea and sensilla styloconicum;there are the medio-lateral binding patch,the baso-lateral binding patch and the baso-mesial binding patch at the inside elytra;hind-wings have a lot of spinescences and well-distributed;and aedeagus have a few types of sensilla trichodea.Besides,some photos of the scanning electron microscopy of sensilla and external appendages are also provided in this article." @default.
