- W2376731314 abstract "Objective To investigate the accuracy of end-tidal carbon dioxide measurement via Smart Capnoline O2TM and the effect of oxygen dilution on end-tidal carbon dioxide partial pressure[PET(CO2)] measurement in receiving O2 by 5 L/min.Methods Forty-two ASA status Ⅰ-Ⅲ and awake patients were enrolled,male 24,female 18;aged 18-65 years old,mean age 46 years old,who were undergoing digital subtraction angiography.They were divided into oxygen group and non-oxygen group randomly.During PET(CO2) monitoring,patients in oxygen group received oxygen by 5 L/min,while patients in non-oxygen group received air.The heart rate,noninvasive blood pressure,PET(CO2) and SpO2 were monitored in all patients.PET(CO2) monitoring was sampled via Smart Capnoline O2TM.After PET(CO2) was stabled for 5-minute,arterial blood was drawn from an indwelling femoral catheter and analyzed for arterial carbon dioxide partial pressure[Pa(CO2)] and PET(CO2) was recorded at the same time.Results There were no significant differences in demographics(age,gender) and hemodynamic between 2 groups.A good correlation between Pa(CO2) and PET(CO2) was observed in 2 groups(r = 0.815 for oxygen group,r = 0.694 for non-oxygen group).The Bland and Altman plots showed essentially equal performance between 2 groups:(0.41 ± 0.34) kPa[(3.10 ± 2.56) mmHg] and 95 % limit of agreement(-0.256-1.080) kPa [(-1.92-8.12) mmHg] for oxygen group;and(0.25 ± 0.33) kPa[(1.90 ± 2.49) mmHg],95 % limit of agreement-0.396-0.902 kPa[(-2.98-6.78) mmHg] for non-oxygen group.The arterial to end-tidal carbon dioxide partial pressure difference between 2 groups was insignificant.Conclusion It is demonstrated that PET(CO2) via Smart Capnoline O2TM displays a strong correlation and agreement with Pa(CO2) and could be used as an alternative to Pa(CO2).Oxygen delivery by 5 L/min has no significant effect on PET(CO2) measurement clinically." @default.
