- W2377377947 abstract "Objective To evaluate the combination of large field diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) and dual echo T1 weighted imaging in detection of bone metastases. Materials and Methods 62 patients with various malignant tumors were enrolled in this study.All patients were examined with large field diffusion weighted imaging and dual echo T1WI. Both examinations were performed on 3.0T MRI with body coil.Abnormal signal intensity on large field DWI and dual echo T1WI were analyzed with conventional T1 and fat saturation T2 weighted images. Results 21 of 62 patients were diagnosed as bone metastases.12 patients were found bone metastases exceeding 10 foci,and the other 9 patients were confirmed 26 bone metastases.All patients were divided into 2 groups:12 patients with multiple bone metastases (10) in one group,and the residual 50 patients with (9) or without (41) bone metastases were in the other group,and the lesions in the latter group were counted.With patient number as study units,the diagnostic sensitivity of bone metastases with large field DWI and combination of large field DWI and dual echo T1WI were both 100%(21/21),and specificity were 90.24%(37/41) vs.100%(41/41),respectively.ROC study showed the area under curve (AUC) of large field DWI and combination of large field DWI and dual echo T1WI were 0.951 vs 1.000,respectively.With lesion numbers as study units,the diagnostic sensitivity of bone metastases with large field DWI and combination of large field DWI and dual echo T1WI were 92.31%(24/26) vs.100%(26/26),and specificity were 90.24%(37/41) vs.100%(41/41),respectively.ROC study showed the AUC of large field DWI and combination of large field DWI and dual echo T1WI were 0.913 vs 1.000,respectively,which showed statistical significant difference (P=0.032). Conclusion Combination of large field DWI and dual echo T1WI may be more accurate in detection of bone metastases compared with large field DWI alone." @default.
