- W2378624529 abstract "Objectives To study the concentration of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) of obese 2-DM patients and the relationship between TNF-α level and insulin resistance.Methods Trial was divided into 3 groups, the samples collected from 42 obese patients of 2-DM (G_1), 40 cases in normal weight of 2-DM (G_2) and 37 cases in healthy controls (G_3). Among the groups matched in age, sex and body mass index (BMI). Forbidden food for 12～14 hours, then monitored the TNF-α , Triglyceride, fasting plasma glucose and insulin level in plasma, so could insulin-sensitivity index (ISI) been calculated.Results The level of TNF-α in plasma of obese 2-DM patients was significantly higher than that of controls ( P 0.05 and P 0.01). The TNF-αwas obviously negative relevant to ISI (r=-0.47, P 0.01). But it was positive relevant to fasting triglyceride (r=0.31, P 0.05).Conclusions The study indicates that TNF-α level in plasma might be related to obese patients of 2-DM and could enhance their stimulated insulin resistance." @default.
