- W2380513030 abstract "An experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of mixed concentrate supplementation level on growth performance and serum biochemical indexes of early-weaned goat kids.Thirty-two (35±3) days old goat kids (male/female 1:1) with body weight of (8.576±1.831) kg were assigned to 4 groups with 8 replicates each by body weight and each goat was fed in an individual pen.Goats in the control group were sucked by ewes,and goats in the experimental groups were weaned at 35-day-old and fed diets supplemented with 50,150,250 g/d mixed concentrate,respectively.The experiment lasted for 42 days.The results showed as follows:1) average daily gain (ADG) was influenced (P0.05 or P0.01) by the concentrate supplementation level.ADG in the 250 g/d group was the highest and was increased by 83.80% compared with the control group (P0.01).ADG in the 50 g/d group was significantly lower than that in the other groups (P0.01 or P0.05).There were no significant differences on the dry matter intake of grass among the experimental groups (P0.05).No significant difference on feed efficiency (total feed intake/gain) was observed among the three concentrate supplementation level groups (P0.05),but the concentrate to gain ratio in 150 and 250 g/d groups was significantly higher than that in 50 g/d group.2) Goat kids in 150 and 250 g/d groups consumed more dry matter,digestible energy,and crude protein than goats in 50 g/d group (P0.01).However,there were no significant differences in NDF and ADF intake among trial groups (P0.05).3) No significant differences were observed in serum biochemical indexes including serum total protein,albumin,plasma urea nitrogen and serum IgA and IgM.In conclusion,the mixed concentrate supplementation increases the nutrients intake of the goat kids and promotes their growth.Growth performance of goat kids can be significantly improved when the concentrate supplementation level reaches (70.0±3.0)% of the total feed intake which is 250 g/d." @default.
