• W2380583493 abstract "China's economy has made more than 30 years of rapid growth,but the contribution from consumption fell dramatically. In 1998,the Chinese government put forward the development strategy ofexpanding domestic demandfor the first time. After more than a decade of expanding the domestic demand,government investment tended to increase and inefficiently stimulate the consumption demand policies,which prompted domestic scholars to begin paying closer attention to how long-term mechanisms could be built to expand consumer demand and also to consider which factors affect domestic consumer demand. Then more and more scholars began to realize that only by narrowing the gap between urban and rural residents' consumption could they quickly promote the consumption demand of domestic residents and completion of the consumption structure upgrade and eventually realize the sustainable development of China's economy. Chinese scholars on the consumption difference between urban and rural areas of the research content includes four aspects: the consumption level,consumption structure,consumption difference between urban and rural areas causes and countermeasures,etc. Current research has the great convergence,the source data convergence,explains factors convergence,convergence analysis method,convergence strategy advice. For many reason for the difference between the urban and rural consumption due to income factor,and the factors of government policy,the history change of urban and rural population and rural migrant workers to the fast expanding of consumer groups. From the government's policy guidance,the history change of urban and rural population scale,government consumption of residents consumption of crowding out and migrant workers,such as Angle of view to explore the cause of the consumption gap between urban and rural areas,and finally puts forward countermeasures and Suggestions of their own. In a detailed analysis of urban and rural residents consumption in consumption scale,consumption level,consumption structure,consumption environment and consumer behavior and other aspects. They found that,although in the past 30 years China's rural residents' consumption level and consumption structure greatly improved,there is still a large difference when compared to urban residents. Furthermore there was a widening trend of the consumption gap between urban and rural residents. According to the relevant data of China's urban and rural residents' consumption during the period of 1995 ~ 2011,using econometric methods to obtain the income of urban and rural residents in our country and the social scale gap between urban and rural areas. Also considering the relationship between the consumption gap between urban and rural areas and the empirical research results show that the urban and rural residents income gap and social fixed investment tendency suffer fromurban bias. In the process of the urbanization of the rapid growth of the urban and rural population change and government consumption expenditure has a significant difference to our country's urban and rural residents' consumption. Through the above analysis,the Chinese government's policy has a great influence on the expansion of consumption gap between urban and rural areas. On the basis of the above empirical analysis,this paper puts forward the countermeasures and these suggestions: first,to increase rural production subsidies and reduce family spending ratio; second,to reasonably support the development of rural financial credit in order to reduce the consumption capital constraints of farmers,which would finally build long-term effective mechanisms for increasing the income of rural residents in China. Third,to change the trend of the government-led investment driven growth model. Fourth,to transform the government's fixed investment tendency ofurban biasand to implement balanced development between urban and rural areas.
