- W2380666592 abstract "Objective To detec the expression of inducible isoform of nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) in nasal polyps (NP) treated with endoscopic sinus surgery (ESS) both in and after the operation. To study the signifcance of iNOS to the prediction of the NP recurrence and the objective evaluation of the ESS effect. Method The expression of iNOS was examined in human inferior meatus mucosa from patients undergoing nasal turbiectomy (n=50 the NP group) and in human inferior meatus mucosa from patients undergoing nasal turbiecotomy (n=37 the control group), respectively, via, immunohistochemistry. Result ① iNOS expressed in all the epithelium, adenoepithelium and also inflammation cytes from the NP group; there was no expression in the nasal mucosa epithelium and adenoepithelium (P(0.01)). ② In the NP group, the rate of the iNOS expression decreased gradually in 1～4 months after the operation with most expression feeble positive. Conclusion iNOS is of much importance to the occurrence and development of NP. The derection of iNOS active expression in NP after ESS can be considered as a reference to the objective standard of operation effect and a risk factor to predict the NP recurrence." @default.
