- W2380756811 abstract "Objective:To analyze the clinical effect of intensity modulated radiotherapy for spinal metastases.Methods:Twelve patients with spinal metastases who had treated with intensity modulated radiotherapy from February 2005 to September 2007 in our hospital were chosen to join this study.All patients were treated with 5 fields of IMRT,the prescribe dose from 28～48 Gy,mean dose was 37.5 Gy,median dose was 40 Gy,2 Gy per fraction,3～5 fraction per week,total treatment course was 16～28 d.Radiation injury was monitored during radiotherapy.Results:Pain relief rate was 100%.After radiotherapy,the patients who complicated with nerve function impairment recovered to different extent.No one had radiation-induced injury,such as radiation myelitis,radiation pneumonitis,etc.Until March 2008,3 cases survived 3 months,1 cases survived 10 months,1 cases survived 17 months,1 cases survived 25 months and 6 cases survived 39 months.The local control rate in 1,2 and 3 years after treatment were 87.5%,87.5%,52.5% respectively.Conclusion:Intensity modulated radiotherapy is a safe and effective treatment method for spinal metastases and is worth spreading in clinic." @default.
