• W2382912706 abstract "Objective To compare the changes of anti-coagulation and fibrinolysis in patients with acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) and other types of acute leukemia (AL) as well as to study the effects of treatment with all-transretinoic acid (ATRA) on anti-coagulation and fibrinolysis system in APL patients. MethodsChanges in both parameters of anti-coagulation and fibrinolysis were observed in 42 patients with AL before treatment and 11 patients with APL before and after treatment.ResultsThe levels of serum α 1-antitrypsin (α 1-AT) and plasma D-dimer (D-D) increased in patients with APL, whereas their plasma levels of antithrombin Ⅲ(AT-Ⅲ),α 2-plasmin inhibitor (α 2-PI), fibrinogen (FG) and plasminogen:A (PLG:A) activity decreased. Significant differences of these parameters in APL existed as compared with other types of AL and normal controls. Activities of anticoagulation and fibrinolysis turned gradually to normal after treatment with ATRA.ConclusionsThe changes of anti-coagulation and fibrinolysis activities in patients with APL are more significant than those in other types of AL. These abnormalities can be corrected by ATRA administration, while their bleeding symptom is greatly relieved in the early stage of its treatment." @default.
