- W2383920924 abstract "Objective To compare one-center experience on kidney transplantation between mother-to-child and father-to-child,and to analyze the risk factors of acute rejection. Methods From 2004 to 2008,there were 70 recipients received allograft from parental donors. This retrospective study examined data of donors and recipients. All recipients were followed up for half a year to four years. Demographic information about the study population was summarized using simple means for continuous variables and proportions for categorical variables. The data was analyzed by Stata software. Results Forty-four cases of mother-to-child and 26 cases of father-to-child transplantation were practiced in our center. All recipients received Triple combined immunosuppressive protocols consisted of calcineurin inhibitors (CNI),MMF/Aza and steroid. In these two groups, the one-year post-transplantation survival rates were 93.3% and 95.7%,respectively. Seventeen recipients took biopsy of the allograft, while 12 had acute rejection of different degrees. Nine cases had clinical acute rejection but did not prove by biopsy. According to the acute rejection,no significant differences were found between mother-to-child and father-to-child cases. However, male recipients and mother-to-child recipients had higher acute rejection rates. Conclusions Living related renal transplantation is a main treatment choice for the majority of cases with end-stage renal disease (ESRD). Mother-to-child and father-to-child had the same outcomes. However, male recipients and mother-to-child recipients had higher acute rejection rates." @default.
