- W2384355511 abstract "Objective To analyze the functions of subemergently reconstructed thumb and fingers in 112 cases, and discuss the timing of the operation and the criteria for functional evaluation. Methods 112 cases of subemergently reconstructed thumb and fingers were randomly chosen from 848 cases of different posttraumatic intervals. The patients were followed up and the functions of the reconstructed thumb and fingers were assessed according to the following criteria: the movement, sensation, strength and comprehensive utilization of the reconstructed thumb and fingers. Each item was graded from 1 to 4 scores. The higher the score, the better the function. The results of the cases with different posttraumatic intervals were compared. Results The function of the thumb and fingers reconstructed within 48 hours and 3 ~ 5 days posttraumatically was superior to that of the digits reconstructed 6 ～ 9 days, 10 ～ 14 days and 15 ～ 20 days posttraumatically. The difference was of statistical significance ( P 0 05). Conclusions The optimal time for subemergent reconstruction of thumb and fingers was within 5 days after the injury. The functional evaluation standard was practicable in clinical practice." @default.
