- W2384650180 abstract "The pseudo-color processing technology has been widely applied to the analyzing process of ocean-color remote sensing information, but no pertinent research has been carried out on how to apply this method accurately and efficiently.Analysis of the information about the research status of pseudo-color application at home and abroad shows that the pseudo-color processing of ocean-color remote sensing information should be based on missions, which is the only way to ensure the accuracy of the results.Mission based pseudo-color process demands that pertinent pseudo-color process implementing program should be determined in the light of the characteristics of three objects(information, color and user). The ocean-color information has common characteristics of continuity, boundedness and quantifiability, but different information has different characteristics of time-domain,spatial-domain and frequency-domain.Color has three attributes: hue、lightness and saturation.Hue is the basic appearance of color, and the most chief elementary characteristic to distinguish colors from each other.Lightness is the characteristic magnitude to show the brightness of an object.Hue has an excellent ability to be categorized and good selectability, but limited sequencing ability, while lightness can be selected, sequenced and quantified but can be categorized.Saturation has an obvious ability to be sequenced and a certain ability to be quantified. In addition, saturation and lightness have different response to the change of spatial frequency.Lightness has responds well to high-frequency,and it is suitable to process data and image of high-frequency and quick changing, while saturation is more applicable to reflect the low-frequency components of the information. In the pseudo-color processing, the purpose and habit of user, such as qualitative analysis or quantitative analysis and the color preferences, will influence the design, implementation and even final result of the program.Comprehensive consideration of above mentioned factors suggests three different designs for the pseudo-color processing of ocean color remote sensing information with different pertinence, applicable range and limitation.Option one is made for the quantitative analysis of the marine information to reveal not only the high-frequency quick changing components but also the low-frequency components of the marine information with low fluctuating range.Option two is made for the qualitative analysis of marine information, which does not insist on the accurate quantization of the information quantity, but concerns more about the relation between the marine information, that is why a color scale of higher information expressing ability is needed.Option three is a supplement for the other two.Option one has a quantitative ability, but smaller total color difference and limited analytic ability.Although option two has a larger total color difference and better analytic ability,it only has a qualitative ability.Option three not only maintains the quantitative characteristic of local area, but also enlarges the total color difference. In the pseudo-color or visual design, the main concern is the most spectacular part in data information that is also highlighted. In most cases users show more interests in the low and high-ends of the data information, which are also the base of the design and use of the double-reverse-hue color-scale of option three. The pertinent design of the three options will facilitate the correct and quick use of the pseudo-color in the analysis of ocean-color remote sensing information.Through examples,it is demonstrated that in the analysis and study of the ocean color remote sensing information, the information could be interpreted better by choosing one or several programs and making some proper adjustments." @default.
