- W2384656416 abstract "New technology for preparation of allantoin by two step synthesis with gloxal as starting material and catalytic oxidized by FeSO4-H2O2 to produce glyoxalic acid,followed by condensation of the glyoxalic acid with urea.After filtration of the reaction mixture,the filtrate can be concentrated,recycled and used for condensation with more urea in next batch to improve the yield.From the experiments carried out for study of reaction conditions,the recommended conditions are:for synthesis of glyoxalic acid,the mol ratio of(CHO)2 to H2O2 is 09～10 and the reaction temperature is 5 ℃～8 ℃;for the condensation reaction,the mol ratio of CHO·COOH to (NH2)2 CO is 1/4,the catalyst is H3PW12O40 with a dosage of 06 % of the glyxolic acid used,and the reaction time is 3 h. The yield of allantoin product achieved 686 % based upon the gloxal consumed while the reference in literature was indicated as 40 %.The product was examined by melting point measurement,element analysis,and IR spectrun identification.Purity of the product achieved 996% that met the specification on content in China National Pharmacopoeia." @default.
