- W2385296817 abstract "Objective To study the clinical effectiveness of uterine artery embolization in the treatment of submucous hysteromyomas. Materials and Methods With Seldinger technique, 4F or 5F Cobra catheter was inserted via femoral artery or left subclavicular artery and successively placed into bilateral uterine arteries. After the lesion was confirmed angiographically, self made silk segments and particles were injected to occlude, successively, bilateral uterine arteries.Results After the uterine artery was occluded, the submucous hysteromyomas became gradually atrophied and necrotized due to ischemia, and the whole or partial tumor would fall off by itself in 1～3 months after the surgery. When the lesion was excreted from the body, its pedicle, regardless of its thickness, could be cut off. Suturing the incision was not necessary, as no active bleeding would occur. The uterus shape and the menstruation returned to normal condition in a rather short time. The symptoms of anemia would also gradually disappear. Clinical effectiveness was obtained in all patients (100%).Conclusion Selective uterine artery embolization is the optimal choice in the treatment of submucous hysteromyomas." @default.
