- W2385381856 abstract "【Objective】To explore the association between polymorphism of apolipoprotein E(ApoE) gene and type 2 diabetic patients with coronary heart disease.【Methods】A hospital-based 1:1 matched case-control study was conducted.100 pairs of subjects were recruited.Polymorphism of ApoE gene was assessed by polymerase chainreaction(PCR) and restriction fragment length polymorphism(RFLP).【Results】The e4 allele of ApoE gene was associated with development of coronary heart disease in type 2 diabetic patients and was more frequent among the patients of coronary heart disease in type 2 diabetic patients.Compared with type 2 diabetic patients without the e4 allele of ApoE gene,the OR with 95% CI of type 2 diabetic patients with the e4 allele of ApoE gene was 2.800(1.360～5.764).After adjusting for diabetic duration,the result still showed that the association between thee4 allele of ApoE gene and coronary heart disease in type 2 diabetic patients was statistically significant.No associations were observed between the e2 and e3 alleles of ApoE gene and the development of coronary heart disease in type 2 diabetic patients.【Conclusions】e4 allele of ApoE gene is associated with higher risk for the development of coronary heart disease in type 2 diabetic patients." @default.
