- W2385383604 abstract "This article studies China's international migration in the framework of world history of migration.A comparative perspective is adopted with a focus on a number of key issues including China's population policies,strategies for economic development,FDI,urbanisation and its links with employment policy.Based upon a comparative study on different social and economic natures embedded in,and different migration policies adopted by China and foreign countries,the author believes that an extreme low proportion of migration generated by China's population policies and its economic development strategies has been maintained in China.The author also predicts that with the peaceful rise of China in the world,the volume of Chinese international migration would be much less than that of Europe during the period when Europe rose up as a global power,and the period of Emigration Peak would also be shorter than that of Europe." @default.
