- W2386194417 abstract "Objective:To summarize the effect of transurethral vaporization of the prostate(TUVP)in combination with transurethral resection of the prostate(TURP)for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH).Methods:A combined useof TUVP and TURP was carried out for treating 36 cases of BPH.There were 26 cases of sohlege stage II disease,10 cases of stage III.Results:The length of duration of the operat ion was 40～60 min(mean,50 min).A blood transfusion of 200ml was required in 5 cases after the operation.1 case transurethral resection syndrome(TURS)occurred.The mean postoperative catheterization time was 6 days.All 36 patients had been followed for 6～24 months(mean,10 months).The international prostate symptom score(IPSS)decreased from(26±3) pre operation to(8±3) post operation.the maximum urinary flow rate(Qmax)increased from(3.2±2.4)ml/s to(13±2.6)ml/s.Postoperatively.transient urinary incontinence was observed in 3cases.Conclusions:Combined use of transurethral electrovaporization and resection of the prostate for the treatment of BPH gives satisfactory effects." @default.
