- W2386202114 abstract "Objective: To investigate the effect of sheep placental extract on weight gain o f adult rat, and compound sheep placental extract against the weight gain induced by sheep placental extract. Methods: The obese model rats were rand omly divided into 6 groups: obese rat model group (A), sheep placental extract ( B), compound sheep placental extract (C 1～4). In the end of the experiment (42 da ys), observing body weight, weight gain, food intake, food efficiency, carcass f at content, relative weight of fat/body, pathological changes of main organs and organs relative weight. Results: Body weight and weight gain of group B are hig her than of group A, C 2 and C 3 (P0 05); food intake is si gnificantly higher and food efficiency is significantly lower than group A and C 1～4 ( P0 01); carcass fat content is significantly higher than group A, C 2 and C 3 (P 0 01), and higher than group C 1 and C 4 (P0 05); the relative weight of fat /body is significantly higher than group A (P0 01), and higher than group C 1～4 (P0 05). On group C 4, the organs relative weight of liver and spleen is significantly higher than gro up A (P0 01), and higher than group B and C 1～3( P0 05). Conclusions: (1) shee p placental extract can increase rat weight and carcass fat content by stimulati ng appetite; (2) the group C 2 and C 3 of compound sheep placental extract can dec rease the weight and carcass fat content induced by sheep placental extract; (3) the group C 3 of compound sheep placental extract can result in weight gain o f liver and spleen.[" @default.
