- W2386363591 abstract "Purpose To observe the effect of interferon α on cardiac function in dilated cardiomyopathy(DCM). Methods Fifty two cases with DCM were selected from Oct,1997 to Apr,2000.Twenty five were male,27 were female.The 52 cases were randomly divided into 2 groups,interferon group(31) and control group(21).Cardiac function,ventricular premature beats,times of hospitalization for heart failure and times of upper respiratory inflammation were recorded before therapy,1 month,3 months and 6 months after therapy.Interferon 300 million U intramuscular injection on every ot her day was given to interferon group,the treatment lasted for 3～6 months. Results Interferon group showed more effective amelioration than conventional group in cardiac function,ventricular premature beat,hospitalizations of heart failure and decreasing upper respiratory inflammation in DCM. Conclusions Interferon is an effective drug for DCM." @default.
