- W2386569191 abstract "Objective To explore the changes of immature reticulocyte fraction (IRF) in renal anemia. Methods One-hundred and thirty five patients with chronic renal insufficiency(CRI) at different stages(include CRI patients during compensative stage and decompensative stage and chronic renal failure stage)and 50 healthy people were studied. The IRF, percent of reticulocyte(Ret%), red blood cell(RBC) and hemoglobin (Hb) were determined with Beckman-Coulter Gens. Auto Hematology Analyzer. The creatinin(Cr) and urea nitrogen(BUN) were determined with Hitachi 7600 Analyzer. The results were analyzed and compared between the different stages of CRI and the normal controls. Results IRF in CRI patients during compensative stage was significant lower than that in normal controls (P 0.05). IRF and Ret%in CRI patients during decompensative stage and chronic renal failure stage were significant higher than that in normal controls (both P 0.05 and P 0.01, respectively). Following increase levels of BUN and Cr, RBC and Hb from compensative stage to failure stage gradually decreased. The negative correlations were found between RBC or Hb and Cr or BUN (r=-0.604 and -0.627;r=-0.600 and-0.628,respectively). During the development of CRI, IRF and Ret%had no correlations with Cr and BUN. Conclusions The results indicated that the changes of IRF in renal anemia could reflect erythropoiesis. IRF decrease in early renal disease, while increased in end-stage renal disease. The changes of IRF were of value in reflecting the effect of therapy using EPO." @default.
