- W2387375371 abstract "Objective To study the effects of quercetin on the ratio of serum IL-18 and IL-10 of nonalcoholic fatty Liver disease(NAFLD) in rats. Methods140 SD rats were randomly divided into the control group, model group, high dosage of quercetin [300mg/(kg·d)] group and low dosage of quercetin [75mg/(kg·d)] group. To construct the animal model of NAFLD in rats with high fat diet, and different dosages of quercetin were administrated. The serum IL-18 and IL-10 in the rats were determined at 4 weeks,8 weeks and 12 weeks after the administration of quercetin.Furthermore, triglyeride(TG),malondialdehyde(MDA),fasting blood sugar(FBS),fasting insulin(FINS) and insulin resistance index(HOMA-IR) were detected after 8 weeks after the administration. ResultsThe ratio of IL-18 and IL-10 in model group were significantly increased from 4 weeks after the administration of quercerin compared with the control group(P0.01),and there was statistical difference among different time(P0.05 or P0.01).Compared with the model group:The IL-18/IL-10 in the different dosages of quercetin groups was dramatically decreased from 4 weeks after the administration(P0.01).But,there was no statistical difference between different time(P0.05).At the 8 weeks after the administration of quercetin:The serum FBS,FINS and HOMA-IR in different dosages groups were obviously decreased compared with the model group(P0.05 or P0.01),however,TG and MDA were significantly decreased only in the high dosage group(P0.01).The correlation analysis showed that the IL-18/ IL-10 was positively correlated with the serum TG、MDA、HOMA-IR(r0,P0.01 or P0.05). ConclusionThe ratio of IL-18 and IL-10 in serum was closely related with the occurrence and course of NAFLD.The closely relationship suggested that pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines could play the important role in the pathogenesis of NAFLD.Quercetin could decreased serum IL-18/IL-10、TG、MDA、FBS、FINS and HOMA-IR in NAFLD rats, which indicated that quercetin could influence the level of inflammatory factor, improved the lipid peroxidation and insulin resistance." @default.
