- W2387627325 abstract "AIM To investigate the mechanism of Yumaian Anti|asthma Formula (YAF) in treating asthmatic guinea pig. METHODS ①Observe the latent period of asthma|inducing of normal guinea pigs and that of them after YAF's preventing. ②Determine the plasma Platelet|activating factor (PAF) contents by biologically quantitative method. RESULTS ①The latent period of asthma|inducing was obviously prolonged in guinea pigs prevented by YAF and positive drugs when compared with normal guinea pigs ( P 0 01). ②The plasma PAF contents of normal and treated asthmatic guinea pigs were much lower than that of asthmatic guinea pigs ( P 0 01～0 05). The plasma PAF contents of normal asthmatic guinea pigs were lowest and close to that of large|dose group of which the plasma PAF contents are significantly lower than that of control group ( P 0 05). CONCLUSION YAF has obvious effects of relieving asthma and the mechanism of its function is due to regulating the plasma PAF level." @default.
