- W2388456627 abstract "Objective To explore the correlationship between variable number tandem repeats(VNTR) polymorphism in intron of the endothelia nitric oxide synthase(eNOS) gene and hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy(HDCP). Methods The VNTR polymorhism in intron 4 of the eNOS genes of all the cases were detected by PCR techniques. The genotype and allele frequency differences were compared between the two groups. The mRNA of eNOS in placenta in diverse groups was detected by RT-PCR respectively. Results The allele frequency of eNOS gene VNTR-4a is 7.50%in control group and 16.00%in patient group (χ2 =4.63 P=0.031, OR=2.35, 95%CI 4.74～23.22). The frequency of genotype 4a/4b+4a/4a is significantly higher in patient group than that in control group (13.75%vs 28.00%) (χ2=5.08 P=0.024, OR=2.69,95%CI 6.12～35.4). The level of eNOS mRNA is higher in control group than that in patient group. In patient group, eNOS mRNA (76.81±1.41 vs 62.79±0.95, t=11.629 P=0.012) in 4a/4b+4a/4a genotype group is significantly lower than that in 4b+4b genotype group, respectively. Conlusions The hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy was associated with the decreased transcription of eNOS mRNA induced by the mutation of the VNTR polymorphism in the intron 4 of the eNOS genes." @default.
