- W2388587417 abstract "rom 1988～1995,a total of 13 primary sacral tumors were reported.of them,5 cases werechordoma,and 5 cases giant cell tumors. The others were osteochondroma,synovial sarcoma,osteosarcoma, each only one case. The symptoms were hlumbosacral pain, dysfunction of anal and urinarybladder sphincter and palpable presacral soft-tissue masses upon rectal examination. Extensive irregularosteolytic destruction with poorly defined eroded edges without rcactive ossifications was demonstrated onthe x-ray films.of the 13 cases, 9 cases were treated with surgery.Of them only 1 osteochundroma was ex-cised with sacral posterior incision.Othcr 8 large tumors sacral amputation were performed through theSacral and abdominal Combined exposurcs.Of the 8 cases,1 received total sacral resectien, 6 subtotalsacral amputation and 1 sacral amputation through S2-3.There were no death in the operation. Except 1case was less than one year after operation,8 patients were follow-up without any local recurrence anddistant metastasis.The average follow-up period was 4.5 years. Of the 9 cases,7 regained satisfactorybladder, rectal and sexual function and resumed normal life and work. 2 cases urinary incontinence. Authers analysed cause of the later and erroneous diagnosis and dissected early diagnosis and surgerytreatment of the primary tumors of the sacrum." @default.
