- W2388854172 abstract "Objective To investigate the expressions of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and vascular endothelial growth factor C(VEGF-C)in thyroid carcinoma and the relationship between their expressions and clinicopathological features.Methods The expressions of VEGF and VEGF-C were detected by immunohistochemistrical staining technique(ELiVision)in 64 cases of thyroid carcinoma,34 cases of benign diseases,and 21 adjacent tissues.Results Higher expression of VEGF was noted in patients at T_3～T_4 stage,in recurrence or metastases when compared with control(P0.05).The positive rates was significantly higher in papillary car- cinoma than in other subtypes(P0.05).The expression of VEGF-C was significantly higher in cases with lymph node metastases(P0.05),but no significant differences were noted among subtypes.Conclusion The over-expression of VEGF is accompanied with higher invasive and metastasis ability.Detection of both VEGF and VEGF-C is helpful for the selection of clinical therapy of thyroid carcinomas." @default.
