- W2389656592 abstract "This paper intends to introduce a new method of geotechnical indoor tests to experiment with the physical and mechanical indexes of the coal gangue in hoping to make it into a useful backfill material.As is known,Shanxi is a province abundant in coal.And,in turn,the province is an area notorious with its coal mining left-over gangue-formed mountains.In answering the state call to save natural resources and reduce waste,the State Project China(Taiyuan) Coal Exhibition Center has been planning to backfill the outdoor exhibition area with coal gangue and Taiyuan region was chosen as one of the testing places for realizing such a call,which turns to be a motivating force for us to make full use of the coal gangue as a kind of recycling backfilling materials,and endeavors to control the compaction quality of the coal gangue.From the results of our mechanical property tests,we have found that the coal gangue mentioned here in the paper enjoys perfect behavior and nice chemical properties,with fine even grain composition and stable properties.It is indeed a kind of non-sticky coarse grained soil easy to get dry.All the results of our experiments show that the coal gangue we trial-used is suitable for making backfill material of construction foundation.The stress-strain relation of the coal gangue we have tried was regressed from the test results,with its physical and mechanical parameters well determined in this paper.Thus,our study results can provide a theoretical basis for its engineering applications to the building industry.The results can also provide quality control indexes for its future engineering exploitation.In addition,the research results can serve as a theoretical foundation for the related engineering practices for the coal gangue to be used in other fields." @default.
