- W2389689654 abstract "Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of hypothermia on patients with stroke.Methods MEDLINE (2000-2011),Wanfang data(2000-2011) and Weipu data(2000-2011) were searched to collect randomized controled trials of hypothermia for stroke.Data synthesis and analysis was performed by using of the Cochrane Review Manager software (RevMan version 5.0).Results Twenty four randomized studies on this topic were evaluated.Among these 24 studies,2730 patients were included,Meta-analysis showed that a month mortality(OR =0.40,95%CI 0.27～0.64,P0.01 ) and three month mortality(OR =0.64,95%CI 0.48～0.86,P0.01) were significantly decreased in hypothermia groups,and the pneumonia morbidity(OR =0.98,95%CI 0.44～1.46,P0.05) were not significantly different between the two groups.Conclusion The stroke patients treated with hypothermia could have lower death rate in a short term and do not increase pneumonia morbidity." @default.
