• W2389779049 abstract "(4fluorophenol3trifluorm ethylphenoxy) cyclotriphosphazene (coded as XLZ) was synthesized and evaluated as an additive in pentaerythritol ester (PET) lubricant for a steelsteel contact. The thermal stability of the synthetic additive was examined and compared with that of another phosphazene additive X1P,by means of thermogravimetric analysis.The friction and wear behaviors of the steelsteel system under the lubrication of PET containing XLZ was investigated and compared with that under the lubrication of PET containing X1P,on an Optimol SRV oscillating friction and wear tester in a ballondisc configuration.The worn steel surfaces were analyzed by means of scanning electron microscopy and Xray photoelectron spectroscopy,and the tribochemical action mechanisms of the additive were accordingly discussed. As the results,XLZ as an additive in PET showed excellent tribological behavior and was superior to X1P in terms of the frictionreducing and antiwear ability. Such a superiority of the XLZ in PET was more prominent at increased temperature and load.XLZ as an additive in PET experienced tribochemical reaction with the steel surface at increased temperature and load,with the formation of a boundary film composed of Fe3(PO4)2 and FeF2,which contributed to improve the antiwear and loadcarrying capacity of the base stock." @default.
