- W2390143146 abstract "Objective To study the temperature difference , tolerated high tem perature, pathological changes between normal and blocked hepatic artery in radiofrequency hyperthermia for pig liver. Methods Mature pig was used with ioding blocked right hepatic artery. Heat of the whole liver was giv en for 1 hour by SR-1000 radiofrequency hyperthermia with four thermocouple pr obes to measure the temperature of the right hepatic artery, right and le ft norm al liver and rectum. Results Temperature of blocked right liver increased by 10 .2?℃ from 39.1?℃ to 49.3?℃ as compared with the left liver of which the temperature rose by 6.8?℃ from 39.7?℃ to 46.5?℃ but t he temperature of righ t hepatic artery and rectum rose only by 3.3?℃, 3.2?℃ respectively. A fter sacrificing the pig one week later,on lobe exploration, seve re necrosis was observed in the right lobe but the left lobe was normal with a clear demarcation between the two lobes . Conclusions Hepatic arterial iodine embolization potenti ates radiofrequency hyperthermia in the liver. Liver with blocked artery showed conspicuous necrosis but liver with normal un-blocked artery was able to toler ate 46.5?℃.This provides some evidence for the combination of regional hyperthermia and hepatic artery block in th e treatment of advanced liver cancer." @default.
