- W2390233670 abstract "Objective: To compare the effects of different concentrations of nanoscale and micron-sized silica dust on rat lung tissue damage.Methods: Fifty six Wistar male rats were randomly divided into nanoscale silica 10.00 mg/100 g,(15.00 mg/100 g),20.00 mg/100 g,micron-sized silica 10.00 mg/100 g,15.00 mg/100 g,20.00 mg/100 g,and control groups.Endotracheal instillation of silica was performed.After 10 weeks,the rats were executed and the injury degrees of lung were examined.Results: Lung visceral index was significantly higher in experimental groups than in control group.For similar dose,lung visceral index was significantly higher in nanoscale groups than in micron-sized groups.Lung biopsy showed nanoscale silica dust made lung partly fibrogenic,alveolar disordered arrangement,and the alveolar interval widening,with lots of inflammatory cells infiltrating.In micron-sized silica groups,lung tissues had typical silicosis performance and pulmonary fibrosis.And a lot of fiber cells proliferated,and silicon nodules could be obviously seen.Conclusion: Both nanoscale and micron-sized silica dust can damage pulmonary tissues,but the degree and appearance of injury are different." @default.
