- W2390856072 abstract "In order to evaluate the potential of utilizing mulberry germplasm resources of different geological and ecological origins for development of forage, medical and food products, the contents of nutritional and active substances in frostbitten leaves of 10 mulberry germplasm resources from various Asian and Oceanian countries were determined and analyzed by Kjeldahl method,Soxhlet extraction method, etc. The results showed that the mass ratio of protein in dry matter of the 10 samples was between 54. 30 and 77. 40 mg /g,that of fat was between 17. 20 and 80. 30 mg /g,that of polysaccharide was between 5. 75 and 25. 00 mg /g,that of flavonoid was between 3. 03 to 7. 60 mg /g,that of polyphenol was between 1. 38 and 4. 72 mg /g,and that of γ-aminobutyric acid( GABA) was between 0. 84 and 1. 02 mg /g. There was no correlation between the contents of nutritional components and active substances in the tested materials. Three mulberry resources of Asian origin, namely Xiqing 8,Yongsheng 1 and Cambodian mulberry, had higher protein content( mass ratio between 73. 90 and 77. 40 mg /g),being favorable for forage development. The mulberry germplasm resource Australia mulberry from Oceaniania had the highest polysaccharide, flavonoid and polyphenol contents( mass ratio at 25. 00 mg /g,7. 60 mg /g and 4. 72 mg /g respectively),being promising for medical and food use." @default.
