- W2391164855 abstract "Arthur Danto is famous for his theory of the End of Art,and meanwhile the dispute aroused from it hasn't stopped ever since the 1980s along with post-modernism receiving its criticism.Domestic researchers have discussed those precisely.This paper attempts to reveal some contemporary ethical and political problems which are reflected from the internal contradiction of Danto's philosophy of art,by quoting John Carey's criticism:1) Danto does not adopt Kant's proposition in the whole relation between beauty and good,although Kant demonstrated the problem of taste at great length.As a result,this issue focuses on his logical incompleteness that has been pointed out by Carey.2) the analogy between Greenberg and dictator of critical theory is obviously lack of evidence,but Danto's persistence displays the anticipation of his political philosophy,which puts equality first.3) Danto actually emphasizes the emotional treatment of the contemporary society when he declares the End of Art." @default.
