- W2391668133 abstract "An expedition of the mammalian fauna was conducted out from April to October,1963,in the Yushu Kegion,Qinghai Province.The Tibetan pika from southern Qinghai is considered as belonging to a new subspecies,for which we propose to name rs:Ochotona thibetana nangqenica subsp.nov.Holotype: No.630053,,collected on May 15th,1963,from Nangqen County,Qinghai Province,altitude 4,100m.Paratypes: 4 2 collected during May-Oct,1963,from Nangqen County,Yushu County,Chindu County and Qumarleb County,Qinghai Province,altitude 3,600-4,000 m.Diagnosis: Pelage much paler than in the other races of the species hitherto fore recorded;ventral surface with the hairs mouse-gray at base and white at tips;ear dark gray in color,the inner margin of which being white,with a tuft of whitish hairs on its anterior base;winter pelage much lighter and paler than that in summer;zygomatic width greater,measuring over 17.0mm.Measurements: (gnu.,nun.)Habitat: Inhabiting among rocks of the coniferous forests,scrubs and meadows occurring together with rock-inhabiting pika,Ochotona erythrotis brookei,which is very similar in color to our paresent form." @default.
