- W2391705928 abstract "The effects of various concentrations of bronopol(2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1,3-propanediol), i.e. 0 mg/L(control), 100mg/L, 300 mg/L, 500 mg/L, 700 mg/L, 900 mg/L and 1100 mg/L, against fungus Saprolegnia infection were studied in fertilized eggs of rainbow trout(Oncorhynchus mykiss)by barrel type incubator at spring water temperature of(4.5±1.3℃). Also, the effects of anti-infection of formaldehyde and hydrogen peroxide at a concentration of 1000 mg/L against fungus Saprolegnia infection were comparatively studied. The results showed that the percentage of eyed embryos was increased in fertilized eggs bathed in the bronopol solution for15 min, the peak eyed embryo rate(78%)and hatching rate(95%)and low deformity rate(1.3%)at a bronopol concentration of 300mg/L as an optimal concentration, above which the percentage of eyed embryos was decreased gradually. There was no significant difference in the abnormality rate among all treatment groups. The 49% of eyed embryos and 33% of hatching rate were found in the fertilized eggs exposed to formaldehyde with abnormality rate of 1.5% and 93% of eyed embryos and 91% of hatching rate were observed in the fertilized eggs exposed to hydrogen peroxide with abnormality rate of 0.7%. There were 11% of eyed embryos, 72.3%of hatch rate and 0.6% of abnormality rate in the control group. Because of the sustained-release characteristics of bronopol, inducing the enduring properties and lacking the characteristic pungent smell. The findings indicated that the bronopol at a concentration of 300mg/L led to efficiently resistance to fungus Saprolegnia infection, and to improve the survival rate of the fertilized eggs of salmonids." @default.
