- W2391918093 abstract "R/qtl,implemented by R language,is a software especially for QTL analysis.In order to study the difference of analysis results by different mapping methods,QTL mapping of plant height was performed on an F2∶3 maize population,and the data was analyzed and compared by interval mapping(IM),composite interval mapping(CIM),two-dimension scan and multiple-QTL fitness provided by R/qtl software.The results showed that a total of eight QTL were detected by all methods,among which seven QTL were detected by IM,explaining 54.57% of phenotypic variation.Three common QTL were detected by all four IM algorithms,and their locations,LOD values,confidence intervals and contribution of each QTL were almost the same.In CIM mapping,a total of five different QTL were detected,which accounted for about 27.66% of phenotypic variation;two QTL located at 158 cM and 222 cM in chromosome 3 could be detected by all four algorithms in CIM.The QTL located at 36 cM in chromosome 7 was found for the first time,and the parameters of other four QTL estimated by CIM were consistent with ones in IM methods.A total of seven QTL were detected using two-dimension scan,and they explained 54.97% of phenotypic variation.No interacted QTL were found.Except the QTL located at 33.5 cM in chromosome 6,other QTL were consistent with those detected in IM method.Only three QTL were found by multiple-QTL fitness,and their total contribution to phenotypic variation was up to 21.52%.No interacting QTL were found by multiple-QTL fitness method.These results demonstrated that the QTL detected by above methods varied not only at number but also at effects,whereas some major QTL could usually be detected by all methods.In addition,there were only major QTL controlling plant height,and no epistatic QTL was found." @default.
