- W2392085004 abstract "PP/unmodified montmorillonite (MMT) composite was prepared by in-situ reactive compatibilization and the microstructure of the composite was characterized by X-ray, FT-IR, SEM and TEM.The results showed the efficiency of flame-retardant of MMT was better than that of Al(OH) 3/Mg(OH) 2 flame-retardant system and did not damage the mechanical properties of PP.In the in-situ reaction, the double bond of reactive monomer was grafted to PP macromolecular chain and the polar functional groups reacted with montmorillonite to form intercalation structure.The interlaminar space between two layers increased from 11.7 nm to 13.2 nm.Good interlaminar bonding and the compatibility of PP with MMT were observed.However, MMT was mainly dispersed in PP matrix as 200～300 nm primary particles, only a few intercalated structures was in the size of nano-meter." @default.
