- W2392297766 abstract "Background: With the deepening of the study in etiopathogenesis of gastric cancer, many host factors discovered have been correlated with the development of gastric cancer, interleukin (IL)-1β genetic polymorphism may be an important candidate. Aims: To evaluate the effects of IL-1β-511 allelomorph and it's genotype in the development of gastric cancer, and to further reveal the relationship between IL-1β genetic polymorphism and gastric cancer. Methods: The results of 7 domestic and overseas case-control studies published from January 1994 to October 2003 were analyzed by meta-analysis. Review Manager 4.2 statistical program was used in processing quantitative aggregate analysis about the relationship between IL-1β genetic polymorphism and gastric cancer. Results: The pooled C/T, T/T and */T genotype of IL-1β-511 gene were all risk factors of gastric cancer relative to C/C genotype, their OR values and 95% CI were 1.78 (1.51～2.10), 1.92 (1.07～3.44) and 1.79 (1.54～2.07), respectively. But the result of T/T genotype was reversed after sensitivity analysis. Conclusions: The pooled C/T and */T genotype of IL-1β-511 gene are high risk factor of gastric cancer, but the relationship between T/T and gastric cancer remains unclear." @default.
