- W2392320896 abstract "Objective: To study the MRI features of normal rat and N-nitrosomethylurea induced glioma (C6 glioma) rat model.Methods: Tweenty-eight wistar rats were injected with C6 glioma cell suspension through the right coronal suture 4mm far from the midline,and the tumor samples were taken on the 3rd,7th, 10th,14th,17th,and 21st days,and after the natural death of the models.The samples were checked pathologically.Five rat models were selceted randomly for conventional T1WI,T2WI examinations on the 8th,11th,14th,17th,21st,and 24th days after the implantation of the tumor,and contrast enhancement axil and coronal T1WI were performed in 0,10,20,30,40,and 50 minutes after the injection of Gd-DTPA.Two normal rats were selected for T1WI,T2WI and contrast enhancing scan.Results: Normal rat cerebral tissue showed slightly long T1 signal on T1WI with unclear border between the cortex and the white matter.While with T2WI,the cortex was identified clearly from white matter.The signal intensity of cortex was higher than that of white matter.Signals with hyper-intensity occurred in posterior horn of bilateral ventricles,and signals with hypo-intensity was observed in cerebellar tentorium.No contrast enhancement was found after injection of Gd-DTPA.In rat C6 glioma model,the soft tissue at the implantation point of scalp was thickened with iso-intesity on T1WI and hyper-intensity on T2WI in 8-24 days after the implantation.Small long-T2 dotty intensity was seen in the right hemisphere on the 14th day with dot-like enhancement,which was more clear and with small nodular enhancement on the 17th day,and developed progressively until the 21st day and the 24th day.1/3-1/2 of the right hemisphere was hyper-intensity on T2WI and the lesion can't be identified from the adjacent normal cerebral tissue.Dynamic enhancing scan on diseased region showed obvious nodosity enhancement but no enhancement was found in edema area.The signal from soft tissue of scalp around implantation points was obviously enhanced.Conclusions: The cortex,white matter and the ventricles of normal rat are clear on T2WI with iso-intensity of T1 and hypo-intensity of T2 in cerebellar tentoriums.The normal cerebral tissue isn't enhanced.T1 signals with iso-intensity and long T2 signals occur in rat C6 glioma which can be found on T2WI and enhancing scan.The latter one can show the size and the shape of the lesion more accurately." @default.
