• W2392546114 abstract "Objective To explore the relationship of inflammation mediator leukotriene E4(LTE4) and nocturnal asthma in 3-6 years old children.Methods The subjects were divided into 3 groups:nocturnal asthmatic group (n=20),non-nocturnal attacks group (n=20) and normal control group(n=10).Urine were collected at 0901-1500,1501-2100 and 2101-0900 in the subjects,respectively.Urinary LTE4 was measured by eneyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).SPSS 11.0 software was used to analyze data.Results In nocturnal asthmatic group,the level of LTE4 had obvious circadian rhythm,the level of LTE4 was highest at 2101-0900 and lowest at 0901-1500,there was significant difference(P0.01),the level of LTE4 at 2101-0900 was significantly higher than that at 15:01-21:00(P0.05),the level of LTE4 at 1501-2100 was significantly higher than that at 0901-1500(P0.05).There were no significant differences in non-nocturnal attacks group (Pa0.05).At 2101-0900,the level of LTE4 was significantly higher in nocturnal asthmatic group than those in non-nocturnal attacks group and normal control group(P0.05,0.01).At 0901-1500,1501-2100 and 2101-0900,the levels of LTE4 were significantly higher in nocturnal asthmatic group and non-nocturnal attacks group than that in normal control group(Pa0.01).Conclusions In nocturnal asthmatic children who are 3-6 years old,urinary LTE4 takes on circadian rhythm.LTE4 is a significant inflammation mediator in asthma,and may contribute to the nocturnal worsening of asthma.Detecting in dynamic state urinary LTE4 is an index in diagnosing nocturnal asthma ,there is significance in evaluating noctunal asthmatic attack,effect and prognosis in below 6 years." @default.
