- W2393024857 abstract "： Numerical analysis was conducted for combined heat and mass transfer by natural convection on a vertical surface with SIMPLE method. Effects of the ratio of buoyancies due to thermal and mass diffusion on fluid flow and heat and mass transfer characteristics were investigated. The velocity, streamfunction, pressure, temperature and concentration profiles under different buoyancy ratio B were caculated and expressed on figure 1 to figure5. The variations of heat and mass transfer rates with the buoyancy radio were also obtained. The results showed that the present calculations agreeed well with the Nu and Sh experimental data. The velocity, heat and mass transfer rates first decreased with the decreasing of buoyancy ratio at high positive values, then increased again with further decreasing of the ratio after the velocity and transfer rates reaching a minimum. The value of buoyancy ratio where the minimum Nu and Sh were attained was a function of Pr/Sc. The flow pattern was dependent on B and Pr/Sc, and four different regions of flow pattern were clearly identified in the B-Pr/Sc chart." @default.
