- W2393078441 abstract "The mineralization patterns of P, K, Ca and Mg in prunings of 6 hedgerow species, Desmodium rensonii, Tephrosia candida, Albizia yunnanensis, Acacia dealbata, Acacia mearnsii and Leucaena leucocephala, were studied in a 12-week experiment with litterbag method. The results showed that the mineralization patterns varied among species and applied methods; P, K, Ca, and Mg of A. dealbata and A. mearnsii prunings buried in soil were mineralized slower than those of other species; and the prunings of L.leucocephala mulch were mineralized slower than those buried in soil. P, K, Ca, and Mg in prunings were mineralized fast and their cumulative mineralization degree reached a steady level in the first 4~6 weeks. By the end of the first 12 weeks, P, K, Ca and Mg were cumulatively mineralized by 80%~95%, 60%~85%, 25%~72% and 20%~64%, respectively. Large fluctuation of nutrient contents in all the pruning residues buried in soil was found during decomposition of prunings, and P, Ca and K contents in residues trended to decline, while Ca and Mg contents trended to increase during the first 12 weeks. K in the prunings was mineralized quickly. P, K, Ca and Mg in prunings in soil were mineralized faster than those on mulch. The mineralization patterns of P, K, Ca, and Mg in prunings could be well fitted by exponent model M t%=M 0%〔1-exp(-kt)〕(where M t% is cumulative mineralized nutrient in time t, M 0% is easily mineralizable nutrient in prunings, and k is rate constants, respectively), and half-life period of nutrients in prunings could be determined. Initial potential mineralization rate and half-life of a certain nutrient might be integrated for regulation of quantity and time of prunings application in practice. Fig 4, Tab 6, Ref 16" @default.
