- W2393182247 abstract "Objective To observe the curative effects and to explore the potential mechanism of different traditional Chinese medicine treatment on subacute-chronic eczema in guinea pigs, and to provide evidence for traditional Chinese medicine treatment of eczema in clinical settings. Methods Subacute-chronic eczema models were induced by 2,4-dinitro-chlorobenzene(DNCB),and then they were divided into six groups that were treated with the method of wind-expelling,itching-alleviating,heat-clearing,danpness-drying and detoxication(A);the method of heat-clearing and detoxication(B);the method of expelling wind to arrest itching(C);the method of clearing heat and drying danpness(D);the method of heat-clearing,dampness-drying and detoxication(E);and the method of wet-removing,wound healing and detoxication(F)respectively. The curative effects of traditional Chinese medicine on swelling of the outer ear, infiltration of dermal inflammatory cells, and parameters of spleen and thymus were observed and assessed. Results In group A,E and F,the discrepancies of ear thickness were significantly decreased(P0.05) after dose administration, especially in group A.Compared to normal saline(NS)group, the discrepancies of ear weight in group A,C and D were significantly decreased(P0.05),especally in group C.The spleen factor and thymus factor in group A was significantly decreased compared with NS group(P0.05).The counting of hypodermic inflammatory cells in tissue slices of each group was significantly decreased compared with NS group(P0.05).Cell counting in group E was the lowest. Conclusion The swelling of the outer ear, infiltration of dermal inflammatory cells, and parameters of spleen and thymus are significantly reduced in group A,which should be considered as the preferred treatment of subacute-chronic eczema in clinical settings. The mechanism of group A in treatment of eczema may be associated with its inhibitive role in delayed hypersensitivity and inflammation as well as its regulatory role in immune system." @default.
